Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility regulations during night shift
- Conduct regular patrols and security checks to prevent contraband and disturbances
- Respond to emergencies, medical incidents, and security breaches with tactical precision
- Process inmate intake, transfers, and release procedures with meticulous documentation
- Maintain accurate logs and reports of all facility operations and incidents
- Coordinate with law enforcement agencies during emergency response situations
- Train new officers on correctional protocols and emergency procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid Virginia driver's license
- Successful completion of background investigation and polygraph examination
