Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility regulations during night shift hours
- Conduct regular security patrols and headcounts to maintain institutional order
- Respond to emergencies and incidents using de-escalation techniques
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate daily logs
- Screen visitors and packages to prevent contraband introduction
- Operate security systems including cameras, alarms, and control panels
- Collaborate with healthcare and rehabilitation staff for inmate welfare
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- Ability to pass extensive background check and drug screening
- Basic computer literacy and documentation skills
- Physical fitness to handle emergency situations and long shifts
- Strong communication and conflict resolution abilities
- Previous law enforcement or security experience preferred
- Must be 21 years of age or older
