Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and maintain security protocols during night shifts
- Conduct regular patrols and headcounts in correctional facilities
- Respond to emergencies, incidents, and medical situations with trained protocols
- Enforce institutional rules and document incidents accurately
- Screen visitors and packages for contraband per security guidelines
- Collaborate with law enforcement and healthcare teams
- Maintain detailed logs and reports of shift activities
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Michigan driver's license
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Certified CPR/First Aid training (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be 18+ years old and US citizen
- Physical stamina for standing/walking 8+ hours
