Key Duties
Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls for service via telephone and radio.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to appropriate locations in a timely and accurate manner.
- Monitor and log activities of field units, including status updates and unit availability.
- Access and update computer-aided dispatch systems with critical incident information.
- Provide information and assistance to citizens regarding police, fire, and emergency services.
- Perform clerical duties, including report generation and record maintenance.
- Stay calm and professional during high-stress situations, maintaining clear communication with field personnel.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Minimum of 18 years of age.
- Valid Arizona Driver’s License with a good driving record.
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation, polygraph, and medical examination.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with computers and ability to learn complex dispatch software quickly.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
