Responsibilities
- Supervise inmate activities and maintain facility security during overnight hours
- Conduct regular patrols and headcounts to ensure compliance with regulations
- Respond to emergencies and incidents following established protocols
- Document incidents and maintain accurate daily reports
- Screen visitors and control access points
- Assist in training new correctional staff
- Monitor surveillance systems and respond to alerts
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Tennessee Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification
- Valid driver's license with clean record
- Pass background check, drug screening, and physical fitness assessment
- Ability to work rotating night shifts (6 PM - 6 AM)
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Basic computer proficiency for report documentation
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
