Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and conduct regular security inspections
- Enforce institutional rules and regulations to maintain facility security
- Respond to emergencies and incidents with appropriate protocols
- Document daily activities, incidents, and inmate behavior accurately
- Collaborate with law enforcement and correctional staff during transport operations
- Conduct headcounts and maintain inmate accountability
- Provide first aid and emergency response when needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid New York State driver's license
- U.S. citizenship and residency in New York State
- Ability to pass rigorous background check and physical fitness test
- Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
- Ability to work rotating night shifts and holidays
- Basic computer literacy for documentation systems
- Experience in security, law enforcement, or military preferred
