Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility rules during night shift hours
- Conduct regular security checks and headcounts to maintain order
- Respond to emergencies and incidents using de-escalation techniques
- Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate documentation
- Operate security systems including surveillance cameras and access controls
- Transport inmates between facilities as required
- Collaborate with day shift personnel for seamless security operations
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED
- U.S. citizenship and valid Texas driver's license required
- Pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Complete 160-hour state-mandated correctional training program
- Ability to work rotating night shifts (6 PM to 6 AM)
- Physical fitness to handle emergency situations and restrain inmates
- Basic computer skills for report writing and system operation
- No felony convictions or domestic violence charges
