Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and maintain facility security during night shift operations
- Conduct regular patrols and headcounts to ensure compliance with detention protocols
- Respond to emergencies, incidents, and medical situations with de-escalation techniques
- Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate documentation
- Screen visitors and packages according to established procedures
- Collaborate with law enforcement and healthcare professionals for inmate welfare
- Operate security systems including surveillance cameras and access controls
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Washington State Driver's License
- Ability to pass background check and polygraph examination
- Basic First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong conflict resolution and communication skills
- Ability to work independently during overnight hours
- Physical stamina to stand/walk for extended periods and respond to emergencies
- Experience in security, law enforcement, or corrections preferred
