Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility regulations to ensure security and order
- Conduct regular security patrols and inspections of correctional facilities
- Respond to emergencies, incidents, and medical situations with appropriate protocols
- Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation of all incidents and observations
- Screen visitors, mail, and packages to prevent contraband entry
- Collaborate with law enforcement and healthcare teams during critical incidents
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Valid Missouri Peace Officer certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Ability to pass rigorous background check and physical fitness assessment
- Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
- Experience in security, corrections, or law enforcement (highly desirable)
- Ability to work independently during night shifts with minimal supervision
- Basic first aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
