Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility regulations with professionalism and integrity
- Conduct routine security checks and headcounts to maintain institutional safety
- Respond to emergencies, disturbances, and medical incidents per protocol
- Document incidents and maintain accurate daily activity logs
- Screen visitors, mail, and packages to prevent contraband entry
- Participate in inmate rehabilitation programs and educational initiatives
- Collaborate with healthcare and mental health professionals for inmate welfare
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED required)
- Valid Indiana driver's license
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and physical fitness assessment
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Basic computer literacy and documentation skills
- Ability to work rotating weekends and holidays
- Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation abilities
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred (training provided)
