Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities to maintain facility security and prevent disturbances
- Conduct routine searches of inmates, cells, and common areas
- Enforce institutional rules and policies with firm yet fair discipline
- Escort inmates within facilities and during medical/legal transfers
- Document incidents, reports, and daily activities accurately
- Respond to emergencies using crisis intervention techniques
- Collaborate with team members to uphold safety protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Must be at least 18 years old and a U.S. citizen
- Texas Peace Officer License or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Physical ability to restrain inmates and work in confined spaces
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Weekend/holiday availability and flexibility
- Basic computer literacy for report documentation
