Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor the daily activities, work assignments, and movement of inmates.
- Maintain order and safety within the facility by enforcing institutional rules and regulations.
- Conduct routine and random searches of inmates, living quarters, and property to prevent the introduction of contraband.
- Respond immediately to emergencies, altercations, or medical incidents to ensure the well-being of all personnel.
- Document all incidents, observations, and report writing in accordance with TDCJ standards.
- Escort inmates to and from assigned areas, medical appointments, and recreational activities.
- Participate in emergency response drills and security protocols.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- No felony convictions (unless pardoned or expunged).
- Must pass a comprehensive background investigation and drug screen.
- Ability to pass the physical fitness test and meet specific medical requirements.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid Texas Driver's License preferred.
