Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility regulations to maintain security protocols
- Conduct regular perimeter checks and surveillance to prevent contraband or unauthorized access
- Respond to emergencies and de-escalate conflicts using approved crisis intervention techniques
- Document incidents and maintain accurate logs of facility operations and inmate behavior
- Collaborate with medical, mental health, and rehabilitation staff during weekend operations
- Conduct headcounts and security sweeps as per institutional policy
- Participate in weekend staff training and emergency response drills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required; college coursework in criminal justice preferred
- Valid Colorado driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check, drug screening, and physical fitness assessment
- Must be 21 years of age or older per state correctional requirements
- Previous security or law enforcement experience highly desirable
- Certification in CPR/First Aid or willingness to obtain within 90 days
- Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Ability to work rotating weekends and holidays as scheduled
