Responsibilities
- Oversee county department operations and ensure alignment with strategic goals
- Develop and implement public policy initiatives affecting Austin metropolitan area
- Manage multi-million dollar budgets and fiscal accountability frameworks
- Lead cross-functional projects addressing housing, transportation, and social services
- Represent county interests in regional planning and intergovernmental partnerships
- Analyze community needs data to drive evidence-based decision making
- Supervise administrative staff and foster high-performance culture
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years in government administration or public sector leadership
- Proven budget management experience with $10M+ portfolios
- Expertise in Texas municipal regulations and compliance standards
- Advanced proficiency in data-driven policy analysis tools
- Strong stakeholder engagement and conflict resolution skills
- Valid Texas driver's license and clean driving record
