Responsibilities
- Network Administration: Design, configure, and maintain local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) to ensure optimal performance and uptime for county departments.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Provide advanced technical support and root-cause analysis for hardware, software, and network issues affecting government operations.
- Security Management: Implement and monitor security protocols to protect sensitive county data and ensure compliance with state and federal cybersecurity standards.
- System Integration: Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to integrate new software solutions and upgrade legacy systems.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of network configurations, system changes, and technical documentation for future reference.
- Project Management: Assist in the planning and execution of IT projects, ensuring deadlines are met within budget constraints.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Certifications: CompTIA Network+, Security+, or CCNA certification is strongly desired.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network administration or systems engineering within a government or enterprise environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of resolving complex technical issues under pressure.
