Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive land use plans and zoning regulations aligned with Omaha's 2050 vision
- Analyze development proposals for compliance with county ordinances and environmental standards
- Facilitate public hearings and community outreach to incorporate resident feedback
- Collaborate with city officials on infrastructure planning and transportation corridors
- Prepare detailed reports on demographic trends and economic impacts
- Manage GIS mapping systems for spatial data visualization
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of municipal or county government planning experience
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS preferred) and CAD systems
- Strong knowledge of Nebraska zoning laws and NEPA regulations
- Excellent written/verbal communication and public speaking skills
- Valid Nebraska driver's license with clean record
- Master's degree or AICP certification preferred
