Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate court records, including case files, dockets, and transcripts, ensuring strict adherence to confidentiality laws.
- Interact with the public, attorneys, and court officials to provide information regarding court procedures, schedules, and filing requirements.
- Process and file legal documents, complaints, motions, and judgments in a timely and organized manner.
- Operate standard office equipment, including computers, printers, scanners, and copiers, and utilize court management software systems proficiently.
- Answer incoming telephone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate departments or staff members.
- Assist in the preparation of court calendars and docket sheets for judicial proceedings.
- Monitor office areas to ensure a professional and orderly environment for visitors and staff.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; additional coursework in Paralegal Studies or Office Administration is a plus.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clerical, administrative, or customer service role preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and court management software (e.g., CM/ECF) is highly desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact tactfully with a diverse population.
- Proven attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Must pass a background check and fingerprinting as required for government employment.
