Responsibilities
- Document Management: Receive, log, file, and manage legal documents, court filings, and civil case records with high accuracy.
- Public Assistance: Provide exceptional customer service to attorneys, court personnel, and the general public by answering inquiries and assisting with case searches.
- Data Entry: Perform high-volume data entry tasks into the county's case management system, ensuring all information is up-to-date and error-free.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain and organize physical and electronic filing systems in strict accordance with legal standards and retention schedules.
- Communication: Relay important court information and notices to relevant parties while maintaining strict confidentiality and adherence to privacy laws.
- Administrative Support: Support the District Clerk and other judicial staff with general clerical duties, including copying, scanning, and mail distribution.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or experience in a legal or administrative setting is preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience in a courthouse, law firm, or government office is highly desirable.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with case management software.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to work with precision and maintain data integrity under pressure.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor.
- Reliability: Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
