Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain network security protocols including firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and encryption standards
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on classified and unclassified systems
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for threat detection
- Develop incident response plans and lead cybersecurity breach mitigation efforts
- Ensure compliance with NIST, FISMA, and DoD cybersecurity frameworks
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security measures into new system deployments
- Provide cybersecurity training to personnel across the organization
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years of professional cybersecurity experience
- Active DoD Secret security clearance (ability to obtain Top Secret required)
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification (or equivalent)
- Proficiency in network security tools (e.g., Wireshark, Nmap, Splunk)
- Familiarity with cloud security architectures (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys)
- Demonstrated knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST 800-53, CIS Controls)
