Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security incidents using SIEM tools and threat intelligence platforms
- Implement and maintain network security controls (firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryption)
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on federal systems
- Develop incident response plans and coordinate breach mitigation efforts
- Ensure compliance with NIST, FISMA, and federal cybersecurity frameworks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance security posture
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience in federal/government environments
- Active Security+ CE or CISSP certification (required)
- Proficiency in network security tools (Splunk, Palo Alto, CrowdStrike)
- Knowledge of federal security policies (NIST SP 800-53, RMF)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
