Responsibilities
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and risk management analysis for federal systems.
- Implement and manage security protocols, including firewalls, encryption, and intrusion detection systems.
- Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity and respond to security incidents in real-time.
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations such as NIST, FISMA, and HIPAA.
- Prepare and submit security documentation for audits and accreditation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security measures into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Qualifications
- Certification: Active Top Secret Security Clearance (or ability to obtain).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent military experience.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in cybersecurity or IT security roles within the federal sector.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in security tools (e.g., Splunk, Wireshark, Tenable) and scripting languages (Python/Bash).
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of network architecture and cloud security (AWS/Azure).
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills for briefing stakeholders.
