Responsibilities
- Record Management: Accurately process, file, and maintain court records, legal documents, and case files in compliance with state and local regulations.
- Public Assistance: Greet and assist visitors, attorneys, judges, and court personnel with inquiries regarding court schedules, filing procedures, and case status.
- Communication: Answer incoming telephone calls, screen messages, and direct correspondence to the appropriate departments or personnel promptly.
- Calendar Management: Schedule court dates, manage docket calendars, and ensure all scheduled appearances are documented correctly.
- Confidentiality: Strictly maintain the privacy and security of sensitive legal information and personal data.
- Administrative Support: Perform general clerical duties such as data entry, copying, and preparing legal correspondence as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies or Public Administration is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience in a legal, government, or courthouse setting is preferred. Experience with case management software is highly desirable.
- Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn new database systems quickly.
- Attributes: Strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse populations.
