Responsibilities

- Customer Assistance: Provide detailed information regarding DMV procedures, fees, and eligibility requirements to the public.
- Service Processing: Process vehicle registrations, license renewals, and title transfers accurately and efficiently using established computer systems.
- Phone Support: Handle incoming calls regarding appointment scheduling, status inquiries, and general service questions with patience and clarity.
- Payment Handling: Receive and verify payments, including cash, checks, and credit cards, ensuring proper documentation and accounting.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and transactions in the department database.
- Queue Management: Monitor waiting areas, manage queue numbers, and communicate wait times to reduce customer frustration.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of customer service experience in a high-volume, public-facing environment preferred.
- Skills: Strong verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex regulations in simple terms.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy when processing data, entering forms, and handling financial transactions.
- Computer Proficiency: Comfortable navigating Windows-based applications and learning new proprietary software quickly.
- Bilingual: Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a significant plus.
- Professionalism: Ability to remain calm and polite under pressure, especially during peak hours.
