Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive emergency response plans for natural disasters and public health crises
- Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies during disaster incidents
- Lead public awareness campaigns on emergency preparedness procedures
- Manage emergency operations center activations and resource deployment
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for county infrastructure
- Train county staff and community volunteers in emergency protocols
- Prepare FEMA grant applications and manage compliance documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years' experience in emergency management or public safety
- EMT, Firefighter, or military emergency services background preferred
- Proven ability to manage multi-agency crisis response operations
- Advanced certification in Incident Command System (ICS-300+)
- Strong proficiency in GIS mapping and emergency management software
- Valid New Mexico driver's license with clean record
