The City of Sacramento seeks an Emergency Management Coordinator to join our Public Safety Division. Responsibilities
- Coordinate citywide emergency response operations during natural disasters and public health crises
- Develop and maintain emergency preparedness plans for vulnerable populations
- Train municipal staff and community partners in emergency protocols
- Manage grants and funding for emergency infrastructure projects
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for critical facilities
- Collaborate with state/federal agencies during disaster declarations
- Lead public awareness campaigns for disaster preparedness
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of emergency management or public safety experience
- FEMAPRO certification or equivalent emergency credentials
- Experience with NIMS/ICS protocols and EOC operations
- Strong knowledge of California emergency response frameworks
- Excellent crisis communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work 24/7 rotations during disaster activations
