Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive emergency response plans for hurricanes, floods, and public health crises
- Coordinate multi-agency operations with NYPD, FDNY, and federal partners during activations
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for critical infrastructure
- Train municipal staff and community leaders on emergency protocols
- Manage emergency operations center technology and communication systems
- Prepare post-incident reports and recommend policy improvements
- Oversee grant-funded projects for resilience infrastructure
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years' experience in government emergency operations
- FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS) certification required
- Advanced knowledge of NIMS/ICS protocols
- GIS mapping and data visualization skills
- Valid NYS driver's license
- Ability to work 24/7 rotations during emergencies
- Experience with NYC-specific emergency frameworks preferred
