Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive emergency response plans for natural disasters and public health crises
- Coordinate with FEMA, DHS, and state emergency operations centers during incidents
- Train municipal staff and public partners on emergency protocols and resource allocation
- Manage grant funding for infrastructure upgrades and preparedness programs
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for city infrastructure
- Lead public awareness campaigns on disaster preparedness and mitigation
- Prepare post-incident reports and recommend policy improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in government emergency operations or disaster response
- FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS) certification required
- Expertise in NIMS/ICS protocols and incident command systems
- Proficiency with GIS mapping and emergency management software
- Valid Texas driver's license and ability to work irregular hours during emergencies
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency preferred
