Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls from the public using CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) systems.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incident scenes efficiently and accurately.
- Monitor and maintain accurate radio logs and incident records.
- Provide critical information, including weather updates and traffic conditions, to responding officers.
- Assist the public with inquiries and provide pre-arrival instructions during medical emergencies.
- Collaborate with other agencies and support personnel during multi-agency incidents.
- Perform regular equipment checks and ensure communication systems are fully operational.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid New Jersey driverβs license with a clean driving record.
- U.S. citizenship or legal residency status.
- Ability to type at least 35-40 WPM.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history.
- Preference will be given to candidates who are bilingual in Spanish or other languages.
