Responsibilities
- Process emergency/non-emergency calls using CAD systems with precision and urgency
- Coordinate police/fire/EMS responses through clear radio communication
- Maintain detailed incident documentation in compliance with state protocols
- Operate multi-channel communication systems during critical incidents
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to callers
- Collaborate with officers, dispatchers, and external agencies seamlessly
- Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA/GDPR regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required (college preferred)
- Pass criminal background check and drug screening
- Typing speed: 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends/holidays
- Strong multi-tasking and decision-making under pressure
- Excellent listening and verbal communication skills
- US citizenship and valid Ohio driver's license
- Must pass dispatcher certification training program
