Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency operations plans for natural disasters, pandemics, and terrorist threats
- Coordinate multi-agency response efforts with FEMA, Harris County, and local stakeholders
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for critical infrastructure
- Train public safety personnel and community volunteers in emergency protocols
- Manage crisis communication systems and public alert platforms
- Oversee disaster recovery grant applications and resource allocation
- Analyze incident data to improve future response strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in disaster response or emergency management
- FEMAI certification or equivalent emergency management credentials
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and emergency software systems
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams under pressure
- Valid Texas driver's license and ability to work irregular hours during crises
- Strong analytical skills with data-driven decision-making experience
