Responsibilities
- Develop and implement emergency response protocols for natural disasters and public safety incidents
- Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies during crisis situations
- Train community members and city staff on emergency preparedness procedures
- Manage disaster recovery programs and resource allocation
- Prepare and maintain emergency operation plans and risk assessments
- Lead public awareness campaigns for disaster resilience
- Utilize GIS mapping and emergency management software for data analysis
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred in Public Safety, Emergency Management, or related field)
- Valid driver's license and ability to work irregular hours during emergencies
- Strong communication skills for public interactions and inter-agency coordination
- Basic knowledge of FEMA NIMS/ICS protocols
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make critical decisions
