Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain emergency management plans for hurricanes, floods, and other natural disasters
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during crisis situations through the Emergency Operations Center
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for critical infrastructure
- Train emergency response personnel and public safety volunteers on crisis protocols
- Manage disaster recovery operations and federal grant compliance
- Prepare public communications during emergency activations
- Ensure compliance with FEMA and state emergency management regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of emergency management or public safety experience
- Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or equivalent certification preferred
- Experience with NIMS/ICS protocols and emergency operations software
- Strong knowledge of Florida Division of Emergency Management requirements
- Exceptional communication skills for multi-agency coordination
- Valid Florida driver's license with clean record
- Ability to work 24/7 during emergency activations
