Responsibilities
- Receive, screen, and direct incoming phone calls and visitors to appropriate city departments.
- Assist the public with inquiries regarding permits, licenses, and general city services.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records, files, and databases using government software systems.
- Process and distribute incoming mail, including sensitive correspondence.
- Assist senior staff with data entry, report generation, and special projects.
- Ensure compliance with all city policies, procedures, and local ordinances.
- Perform general clerical duties as assigned to support departmental operations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred.
- Previous experience in a clerical, administrative, or customer service role is a plus but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
