As an entry-level government employee, you will be the backbone of our operations, ensuring that our city runs smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the processing, filing, and maintenance of official government records and documents with high accuracy and confidentiality.
- Respond to inquiries from the public and internal departments via phone, email, and in-person, providing accurate information regarding city services and procedures.
- Support administrative staff by preparing meeting materials, taking minutes, and coordinating logistics for city council and departmental meetings.
- Perform data entry tasks to update databases and manage electronic filing systems, ensuring all data is up-to-date and compliant with regulations.
- Monitor and organize physical office spaces, including mailrooms and reception areas, to maintain a professional and efficient environment.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations for senior management and community stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing city projects and initiatives.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate's degree in Public Administration, Business, or a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 0-2 years of experience in an office or administrative setting, or equivalent military experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ability to learn new government-specific software quickly.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse populations.
- Ability to pass a standard background check and drug screen, as required for government employment.
- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation is preferred.
