Responsibilities
- General Administration: Perform a variety of clerical duties including data entry, filing, and maintaining accurate records for city departments.
- Communication: Receive and screen incoming calls, emails, and visitors, directing inquiries to the appropriate staff members professionally.
- Document Management: Prepare, proofread, and distribute memos, reports, and official correspondence using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Meeting Support: Assist in scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and taking minutes for various government board and committee meetings.
- Public Assistance: Provide information and assistance to the public and employees regarding city policies and procedures in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Inventory Control: Assist in the monitoring and ordering of office supplies and equipment as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: No prior professional experience required; entry-level candidates with internship or volunteer experience are encouraged to apply.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn new software quickly.
- Attributes: Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
