Responsibilities
- Assist the Public: Provide exceptional customer service to retirees and state employees regarding pension inquiries and benefit questions.
- Data Entry & Processing: Accurately input and verify retirement application data into state databases and legacy systems.
- Document Management: Organize, file, and maintain confidential pension records and legal documents in compliance with state regulations.
- Research & Support: Conduct basic research to resolve discrepancies in account information or benefit calculations.
- System Navigation: Learn to navigate internal government software (e.g., FRS systems) to answer routine questions independently.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is a plus.
- Experience: No prior pension or government experience required. We value attitude and aptitude over experience.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic typing skills (35+ WPM).
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly to the public.
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail to ensure data accuracy and compliance with strict government protocols.
