Responsibilities
- Assist in processing and verifying new pension and retirement benefit applications for County employees.
- Conduct preliminary research and data entry to ensure accurate member records within the retirement database.
- Communicate effectively with members and beneficiaries regarding pension eligibility, status inquiries, and procedural requirements.
- Review documents for compliance with state and local government regulations regarding retirement plans.
- Collaborate with senior analysts to resolve complex member inquiries and identify process improvements.
- Prepare routine reports on pension activity and membership statistics for departmental review.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive employee and financial information at all times.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related field (equivalent experience may be considered).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data management and document processing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with the public and internal stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
- Understanding of basic government processes or previous experience in a customer service role is highly preferred.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
