Responsibilities
- Assist in processing pension benefit calculations and member inquiries with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Review and verify retirement application documentation, including income verification and employment history.
- Maintain and update member records within the state's retirement database system (e.g., SERS, VRS).
- Collaborate with the Benefits Administration team to resolve complex pension discrepancies.
- Prepare routine reports on pension plan status and actuarial data for internal stakeholders.
- Provide exceptional customer service to current and prospective retirees regarding plan benefits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with sensitive financial data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel highly preferred.
- Basic understanding of government regulations, payroll processes, or actuarial concepts is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
