Responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance to federal employees regarding pension eligibility, retirement options, and Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) contributions.
- Review and process retirement applications and benefit forms with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Conduct detailed research on federal regulations to answer complex inquiries regarding pension calculations.
- Organize and lead informational workshops for federal staff regarding long-term financial planning and retirement readiness.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all client interactions and benefit processing within the federal database.
- Collaborate with HR and payroll departments to resolve discrepancies in pension statements.
- Stay current with changes in federal legislation and OPM guidelines to ensure compliance and accurate advice.
Qualifications
- United States Citizenship is mandatory for this federal position.
- High School Diploma or GED; a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Human Resources, or a related field is a strong plus.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-specialists.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with government case management systems.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be willing to undergo a federal background investigation.
