Responsibilities
- Monitor industrial facilities for EPA and IDEM compliance with federal/state environmental regulations
- Conduct on-site inspections and audit industrial waste management systems
- Prepare detailed compliance reports and regulatory documentation
- Investigate environmental complaints and enforce corrective actions
- Develop pollution prevention strategies for regulated facilities
- Coordinate with legal teams on enforcement proceedings
- Train facility personnel on environmental compliance protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field
- 3+ years of environmental compliance experience
- Valid Illinois Professional Engineer (PE) or Environmental Professional certification
- Proficiency in EPA reporting software and GIS mapping
- Strong knowledge of RCRA, CWA, and Clean Air Act regulations
- Excellent written communication and documentation skills
- Ability to travel 25% for facility inspections
- Government security clearance eligibility
