Responsibilities
- Analyze environmental regulations and propose policy recommendations for San Francisco's coastal and urban ecosystems
- Lead stakeholder engagement with community groups, industry partners, and local government agencies
- Develop comprehensive environmental impact assessments for major development projects
- Coordinate with state legislators to draft and advance environmental legislation
- Monitor compliance with California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and federal regulations
- Create public outreach materials to promote environmental initiatives
- Track emerging environmental technologies and best practices for implementation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in environmental policy analysis or regulatory compliance
- Deep knowledge of California environmental regulations (CEQA, AB 32, SB 375)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for public reporting and stakeholder management
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and environmental data analysis tools
- Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Valid California driver's license and ability to travel to field sites
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass federal background clearance
