Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections and audits of industrial facilities to verify compliance with state/federal environmental regulations
- Analyze air/water quality data and prepare detailed compliance reports for regulatory agencies
- Develop and implement pollution prevention strategies for municipal and commercial entities
- Coordinate with local government agencies on environmental hazard mitigation projects
- Provide technical guidance to businesses on permit applications and regulatory requirements
- Investigate citizen complaints regarding environmental violations and recommend corrective actions
- Stay current on evolving environmental policies and industry best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 3 years experience in environmental compliance or regulatory affairs
- Strong knowledge of EPA and LDEQ regulations (RCRA, CWA, CAA)
- Valid Louisiana driver's license with clean driving record
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and environmental data analysis software
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills for public reporting
- Ability to work independently in field environments and variable weather conditions
- Professional certification (e.g., CHMM, QEP) preferred
