Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate environmental policies aligned with California's Climate Action Plan and SB 253/261 requirements
- Analyze air quality data and recommend regulatory strategies for Bay Area industrial zones
- Coordinate with local governments on water conservation initiatives and drought response programs
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs for legislative committees and public hearings
- Lead stakeholder engagement sessions with community organizations and industry representatives
- Monitor federal environmental regulations and assess impacts on California compliance frameworks
- Manage grant programs supporting environmental justice communities in Santa Clara County
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Environmental Science, Public Policy, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or environmental NGO
- Expertise in California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and federal Clean Air Act regulations
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis tools (R, Python, or SAS) and GIS mapping
- Demonstrated success in developing stakeholder consensus on complex environmental issues
- Valid California driver's license and ability to travel to field sites
- Professional certification in Environmental Policy (e.g., AICP or equivalent) preferred
