Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections of food establishments, childcare facilities, and public swimming pools
- Investigate environmental health complaints and implement corrective actions
- Provide regulatory guidance to businesses and community organizations
- Collect environmental samples (water, air, soil) for laboratory analysis
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records
- Educate the public on health regulations and best practices
- Collaborate with state agencies on enforcement and compliance matters
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of environmental health inspection experience
- Valid Florida Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) certification
- Strong knowledge of Florida sanitation codes and regulations
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work independently and in diverse environments
- Valid Florida driver's license
