Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of food establishments, childcare facilities, and public swimming pools
- Investigate environmental health complaints and implement corrective actions
- Provide technical guidance to businesses on regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with local agencies during public health emergencies
- Develop educational programs for community stakeholders
- Analyze environmental data and prepare detailed reports
- Test water quality and monitor hazardous material handling
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Biology, or related field
- California Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) certification
- Minimum 2 years environmental health field experience
- Strong knowledge of California Title 22 regulations
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Valid California driver's license
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends
- Spanish bilingual proficiency preferred
