Responsibilities
- Process and adjudicate Social Security retirement, disability, and survivor benefits applications
- Provide accurate benefit counseling to applicants via phone, email, and in-person meetings
- Review complex medical and financial documentation for eligibility determination
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, attorneys, and community organizations
- Maintain strict compliance with federal regulations and privacy laws (HIPAA, FOIA)
- Generate detailed case documentation and reports for administrative review
- Participate in continuous training on policy updates and procedural changes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 2 years customer service experience in benefits or healthcare
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and case management systems
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting complex regulations and documents
- Excellent communication abilities in both English and Spanish
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility for federal background clearance
- Valid California driver's license for occasional travel to regional offices
