Responsibilities
- Administer and process federal veteran benefit applications with 100% accuracy
- Provide expert guidance on pension plans, healthcare options, and disability compensation
- Conduct thorough case reviews to ensure compliance with federal regulations
- Collaborate with medical and legal teams to resolve complex benefit appeals
- Maintain confidential records while adhering to strict HIPAA and federal privacy laws
- Develop educational materials for veterans regarding benefit eligibility
- Represent the VA in community outreach events to promote awareness of federal programs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Social Work, or related field
- 3+ years experience in federal benefits administration or veteran services
- Active Secret security clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Proficiency with VA benefits systems (VBMS, VBA) and Microsoft Office Suite
- VA-accredited representative certification preferred
- Deep understanding of Title 38 U.S.C. regulations
- Exceptional communication skills with diverse populations
- Ability to manage high-volume caseloads under tight deadlines
