Responsibilities
- Manage federal pension plans including enrollment, disbursements, and compliance with OPM regulations
- Counsel employees on retirement planning, Thrift Savings Plan (TSP), and survivor benefits
- Process benefit claims and resolve complex employee inquiries within SLAs
- Coordinate with OPM, IRS, and external pension administrators for plan optimization
- Conduct annual benefits audits and maintain accurate participant records
- Develop educational materials for retirement planning workshops
- Collaborate with HR on benefits integration and policy updates
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, HR, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of experience with federal benefits administration or pension plans
- Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) and Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) expertise
- Strong knowledge of OPM regulations (5 CFR Parts 870-899)
- Proficiency with HR systems like HRIS and BENEFITS
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Federal security clearance eligibility or current clearance
