Responsibilities
- Process federal benefit applications, claims, and inquiries with high accuracy and adherence to strict deadlines.
- Provide expert guidance to federal employees and veterans regarding retirement, health, and life insurance options.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive personnel and financial records in compliance with federal privacy laws.
- Conduct audits of benefit records to ensure compliance with agency policies and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with HR teams and external federal agencies to resolve complex benefit discrepancies.
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for all cases handled.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in federal benefits administration, claims processing, or customer service within a government setting.
- Deep understanding of the Federal Employees' Retirement System (FERS) and Thrift Savings Plan (TSP).
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex policies to non-experts.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and case management software.
- Ability to manage a high volume of tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
