Responsibilities
- Process and adjudicate veterans' disability compensation claims with 99% accuracy
- Provide expert guidance on federal pension plans and survivor benefits
- Collaborate with medical professionals to develop comprehensive benefit packages
- Conduct eligibility determinations for VA healthcare programs
- Maintain detailed case documentation in federal compliance systems
- Represent the VA in veteran outreach events across Fresno County
- Train junior staff on federal regulations and procedural updates
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- 3+ years of federal benefits administration experience
- Active Secret security clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Expert knowledge of Title 38 U.S. Code regulations
- Proficiency in VA claims processing systems (VBMS, VBA)
- Certified Federal Benefits Administrator (CFBA) preferred
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive veteran information with discretion
